a rare earth refinery plant, the biggest in the world
upstream of this beautiful river.

Meanwhile on the other branch of Balok river
where most of the discharge from the Gebeng Industrial area
including Lynas flow into, one can notice the variation in color,
clean blackish above compared to brownish below.

Pillars from the old pre-war wooden bridge
bear witness as more event unfold upstream.

This track of mangrove forest is fighting against all odds for survival.

ReplyDeletea pristine area--i hope Lynas will make sure their waste will not ruin the environment here. residents here should be vigilant.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love the clouds reflected in the water in the first two photos, and the complicated tangle of tree roots in the last one! Looks like a quiet place that must be home to many creatures. I'm sorry to hear that it's threatened by the refinery and agree with Luna Miranda!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful river! Yes, the brackish water is a sad evidence of lynas:(
ReplyDeletePretty captures of the cloud reflections. I hope the mangroves survive. Lovely photos, happy skywatching!
